Je me tiens avec la France et le Liban

The night before the Paris attacks, a suicide bomber set off explosives in Beirut, Lebanon. A second suicide bomber was thwarted by a brave man who threw himself at the bomber so the people around him were not hurt. At least 43 people were killed in the two attacks.
Last night, there were mulitiple terrorist attacks in Paris, France that left well over 100 people dead.
Last night, there were multiple terrorist attacks in Paris, France that left well over 100 people dead.

My heart hurts. These people didn’t deserve to die. Their families should not have to endure this tragedy. My only solace is that the cowards who did this died as well. If there is a god, I sincerely hope he sends them to the lowest depths of hell possible.

How many more people have to die at the hands of these fucking cowards? How many children have to grow up without their parents? How many children do parents have to bury before we finally say enough is enough? I am angry, I am fed up, and I am tired of people glossing over and deflecting the issue to suit their own selfish ends. It disgusts me that the people of Lebanon suffered in relative silence, that I didn’t even HEAR about the attacks there until Paris was attacked as well. The fact that we are so desensitized to violence in that region of the world that our news media doesn’t even bother to report the deaths of dozens of people is horrifying. The fact that there are no FB profile pictures with Lebanon’s flag interposed over them is disheartening to me.

Please don’t take that as me discounting what happened in France. That is tragic in its own right, and I hope and pray that the people responsible are brought to justice. But what kind of fucked up world do we live in that the deaths of dozens of people doesn’t even merit a blurb on the nightly news? The very fact that people DIED should be newsworthy. It doesn’t matter where it happened. It doesn’t matter who is responsible. Every life matters, and should be mourned when it ends tragically, regardless of the circumstances. The people responsible for the Beirut attacks should be held to the same measure of justice as the cowards who attacked Paris last night.

And as human beings, we should be equally disgusted by both attacks. Dozens of lives have been lost at the hands of people who don’t deserve the air they are breathing right now. They took that away from innocent people. They forever changed the lives of thousands more. The worst part of it all? They succeeded in turning us against one another, heaping more tragedy on top of already tragic events. No one is more important than someone else, and the fact that certain groups are turning this tragedy into a publicity stunt disgusts me. I have lost any and all respect I ever had for the groups that are doing this.

Just because a certain event is getting more coverage than you doesn’t mean you are less important or that you don’t matter. You do, you absolutely do, but throwing a temper tantrum because there aren’t dozens of reporters knocking down your door does nothing to help you. Acknowledge that the world doesn’t revolve around you, and that there are people suffering. Stand with the people who have been victimized just the same as you, and show the whole world that you won’t tolerate senseless violence perpetrated against anyone, regardless of the reason. Be the better person and show that you have compassion for your fellow man.

  1. What chance have we of Peace in the World with sadistic maniacs like those about. The carnage in Lebanon and in France are both equally horrific but someone somewhere knows who the people of ISIS are and someone funds them, pays for their weapons and someone else provides those weapons. We have to target those people too. The arms manufacturers are getting rich from all this killing so we need to be sure that they no longer sell weapons where terrorist groups can get their hand on them. The next mass killings may involve Americans being killed by U.S. made weapons.
My heart goes out to the families of those killed in France and Lebanon. At least the Kurds in the Middle East are fighting back against them and it might encourage the leaders of some countries to in the region to put their armies to good use against ISIS though they’re afraid their people may start asking for more democracy if outside threats are gone.
It’s time a high price was put on the heads of those killers and of ISIS Command. Maybe with the chance of some democracy in places like Saudi, there would b more stability in the region.
